The UPR-Río Piedras Campus Self-Study process embraces the theme: Commitment to Institutional Excellence and Empowerment for Continuous Improvement.

Self Study Report 2024

The UPR-RP team working on the renewal of institutional accreditation has completed a first master draft of the 2024 Self-Study Report (SSR) and is making it available to the campus community for review and comments. A final version of this report will be submitted to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) by the end of 2024 in compliance with the established timeline for reaccreditation. While this is a forward-looking document, it pays special attention to educational activities and other aspects of institutional life during the period 2016-2024. The reaccreditation process will culminate in 2025.

The Self-Study report aims to evidence compliance with 7 standards and related guidelines found in the 13th edition of MSCHE’s Standards for Accreditation,  and Requirements of Affiliation, as well as with the UPR-RP mission and, when appropriate, the four institutional priority areas of the UPR-RP Strategic Plan, Commitment 2018-2023. The SSR has been developed with a methodological design following the “Standard-Based Approach” that MSCHE approved in 2023. In this first master draft, still under development, the seven chapters present discussion and initial findings that resulted from reviews completed by seven working groups, one group per chapter.

Below please find the SSR draft and a link to a feedback form developed for the submission of comments. The team that is working on this project would appreciate general comments as well as specific suggestions and questions that assist in improving its contents. Feedback that is received will be used to advance institutional improvement on our Campus. The team working on this report aims to engage all the different groups that make up the UPR-RP Campus community given that each has important insights that can help to identify the evidence and findings that will be included in the final report. The comments form will be available from July 13, 2024, to September 5, 2024.
